The Grand Hôtel’s sidewalk dining and bar area is once again open for the summer season, this year with an exciting new cocktail menu, a more elaborate snack menu and an expanded lounge area. At the Terrace, guests can enjoy cool summer cocktails, delectable food and an unbeatable view of the royal palace.
Grand Hôtel is launching four new spa treatments, two of which – Grand Glow and Instant Glow – are specially developed for the Grand Hôtel in collaboration with the world renowned dermo-cosmetic company Biologique Recherche. Also added to the spa’s exclusive menu of treatments are an anti-stress massage called Flow and a Chakra Flow massage.
For the third year in a row, the Grand Hôtel’s summer café will be opening for the season on Strömkajen in front of the hotel. Extending a warm welcome to passers-by, Stockholmers and tourists alike, the Grand Café will be offering lighter lunches and Swedish ‘fika’ straight from the Grand Hôtel’s kitchen and patisserie.
At the Gala SPA AWARDS 2015, Grand Hôtel Nordic Spa & Fitness was awarded the prestigious World’s Most Innovative Spa accolade. Grand Hôtel won over three other nominated spa facilities, and was the only Swedish spa to be nominated this year.
Grand Hôtel is restructuring its restaurant and events & conferences operations, adding two new management positions. Karl Persson is now the hotel’s Food & Beverage Manager, with responsibility for the hotel’s entire restaurant operations, and Camilla Mörk has been recruited as the hotel’s new Events Manager, responsible for managing and developing the hotel’s events & conferences operations.
The Grand Hôtel in Stockholm will begin 2015 by further developing what is the heart and perhaps the most important part of the hotel – the lobby. Here, the approximate one million guests who pass through the lobby each year form their first impression of the hotel. A key change is a new white marble floor with carpet inlays instead of today’s wall-to-wall carpeting.
The iconic Grand Hôtel in Stockholm has completed an extensive refurbishment of its hotel rooms and corner suite on the fourth floor. The new rooms now have a stylish, contemporary interior with bespoke wallpaper, select fabrics and room detailing in an eclectic style, characteristic of 1874, the year the hotel was built.
For the first time ever, Mathias Dahlgren is taking on Christmas food and cooking up his interpretation of yuletide produce and flavors, spiced with a big pinch of innovation. During the month of December, his Christmas dishes will be served at Matbordet, where chefs will cook five courses using Christmas produce with a contemporary twist for a maximum of 10 guests at a time. Booking is now open.
Today it became official that Grand Group AB is to acquire the remaining assets of Lydmar Hotel AB. The hotel will continue to operate under its own brand name, Lydmar Hotel.
