Demand Management for Hospitality Leaders' Course was a Success

The opening period of the short courses by the Haaga-Helia Hospitality Competence Center in Estonia has been very successful, as the first two courses received very positive feedback from the participants. The coaches also enjoyed the feeling of sharing their know-how with a very eager target group.

After the first short course was held on October 6th and 28th, on the subject of "Hospitality Industry Managerial Accounting" by Timo Saranpää, M.Sc.(econ.), the mission in question continued with the course „Demand Management for Hospitality Leaders“ by Jere Talonen (Cornell MBA and Haaga BSc. in Hospitality Management) on November 5th.

The day was designed for Estonian hoteliers who wanted to upgrade their commercial competencies and develop their hotel or department, in order to achieve a higher turnover at a better GOP, thus increasing hotel asset value towards potential investors.

The coach, contents, and real-life cases of this hands-on applied demand management workshop, were very international.

The full day at EBS was structured in 3 sessions - "The Demand Management - “Your Path the Success”", “Proactively Mapping Your Success - “Facts, no assumptions”” and “Putting Learnings Into Actions – “Just Do It””.

The participants found the event very informative (some even expressed their opinion, that the 1-day package filled to the brim could have well been spread over two days), well-paced and –structured, providing new ideas and insights, and also new contacts among the participants themselves.

It would be appropriate to wind it all up instead of crunching some numbers by quoting the coach himself: "Be yourself, don’t act, be sincere and say what you can and be honest to the customer about you cannot do for them".
