    At the Formex interior design and gifts exhibition on January 14-17, 2015, the Nordic kitchen will be in the spotlight at the exhibition's pop-up restaurant, which this time will be called Nordic Eat. In creating the area, the food has as much importance as the interior design.

    At the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, February 3–7, 2015, the Design Bar will be integrated into a new knowledge area that will also include a stage and an exhibition. The task of creating an overall concept for the area went to designer Mattias Stenberg, who offers visitors the pallette of Norrland’s colors, materials and flavors – with a clearly modern twist.

    Last week Stockholm was filled with with activities and a gastronomic party as the industry gathered at Stockholmsmässan for the GastroNord and Vinordic exhibitions as well as the Bocuse d’Or Europe chef championships. The party culminated with a gold medal finish for Sweden and Tommy Myllymäki.

    The mood at Stockholmsmässan reached the boiling point when Sweden and Tommy Myllymäki took home the victory in the prestigious Bocuse d'Or culinary competition’s European championship on Thursday evening. Implementation of the competition, in the hands of the French organizer GL Events, was also the best ever.

  • Sweden’s best value wine named at Vinordic Wine Challenge 2014

    Sweden’s best value wine was presented today as the winners of the Vinordic Wine Challenge were announced at the Vinordic fair at Stockholmsmässan. A record number of wines entered Sweden’s only EU-certified wine competition, and new for this year was the addition of two categories for organic wines.

    GastroNord, which will be held May 6-9 at Stockholmsmässan, is bubbling with a passion for food and inspiration. The Entrance Hall will be transformed into an interactive kitchen filled with activities, and the fair becomes a meeting place for discussions and inspiring exhibitions. At the same time, the other halls are hosting Vinordic, the beverage trade show, and the Bocuse d´Or Europe.

This year the party has an extra dimension; the Bocuse d´Or Europe chef Championship.

    On Friday, May 9, the GastroNord food fair, which will be held May 6-9, will turn its focus to cafés, pastry shops, bakeries and students with a number of activities. For example, Sweden’s best barista for 2014 and Student Chef of the Year will be announced.

  • Success as Sweden’s top wines are selected

    The Vinordic Wine Challenge, Sweden’s only EU-certified wine competition, has selected this year’s best wines. Almost 700 wines competed in 37 classes, within ten different flavour types. Within each category, a gold, silver and bronze winner is then named. These are Sweden’s best-value wines.

  • Chef of the Year restaurant brings together Sweden’s top chefs at GastroNord

    GastroNord, 24-27 April, will see the launch of the Chef of the Year restaurant. The menu at this temporary pop-up restaurant will be devised by the Chef of the Year Association, including contributions from Klas Lindberg, Tommy Myllymäki and Markus Aujalay, all winners of the Chef of the Year title.

  • Hear about the world’s oldest drinkable champagne, plus grappa, wine and beer at Vinordic

    Next week sees the launch of the Vinordic School (25-27 April), which features a whole host of talks. Visitors can learn about the tasting and re-corking of the bottles of champagne found in a shipwreck in the Åland Archipelago. At the fair, there will also be wine tasting and glass testing with Gaja and Riedel, as well as beer tasting with brewmaster Garrett Oliver.

  • All about rosé and champagne at Vinordic

    At Vinordic, 25-27 April, which takes place alongside GastroNord at Stockholm International Fairs, visitors will get the opportunity to find out everything there is to know about rosé and champagne. Experts will be on hand at the Rosé Wine Tasting and Josephine Edelskog’s Champagne Bar to offer advice and tips.
