Granted — I’ve fallen in love with packaging again, The packaging design is made by Marc Atlan, Danish-born and NY resident makeup artist Kirsten Kjaer Weis is the woman behind this exquisite makeup series.

"Ever since the green beauty movement exploded, we’ve been fielding pitches from beauty companies claiming to offer the first real 'eco-chic' product range — i.e., that rare collection in which quality natural and organic ingredients combine with uncompromising luxury. We're often unimpressed, but KjaerWeis, a new makeup line designed by the Danish-born, New York-based makeup artist Kirsten Kjaer Weis, has jarred us out of complacency. Let's start from the outside and work our way in: Each compact in the Kjaer Weis line comes encased in a red lacquered grain-textured box that resembles a little jewelry box (a jewelry box of the Cartier variety, if you know your high-end bling-purveyor packaging). Opening said box reveals a weighty silver compact made from zamac, an alloy of zinc, aluminum, magnesium, and copper that makes a clicking sound when the slide function of the lid closes, similar to the noise a classic Mercedes door makes when it shuts! The compacts, while beautiful, are not recyclable — but they’re refillable with palettes of cream blush, eye shadow, and lip tint in universally flattering earth tones, all of which are formulated with 95 percent organic ingredients that utilize natural preservatives and pigments. The only things missing are parabens, petrochemical emulsifiers, synthetic colors, and fragrances, which we’re just as happy to do without, thanks".

As an incontestable minimalist I love that Kirsten Kjaer Weis has made her choice and does not present me with a range of unbecoming colours, she has steadily refined and edited the colours she uses.

She continues: "I like lips to look 'modern': not overly lipstick-y; moist, not shiny; a beautiful finish without looking made-up. I usually apply the lipstick with my fingers. It gives a contemporary, effortless look that I think many women desire."

 "My cream blush makes you glow; it brightens the eyes and gives a youthful, sun-kissed look, almost like coming back from a brisk walk. I apply it to the apple of the cheek and it melts with the warmth of the fingers. Cream blush enlivens the skin, allowing the woman to stand out, not just her make-up."

 "My eye shadows are all earthy tones, with a subtle pearl finish. I have created these specific neutral shades of light beige, taupe, brown and greyish black to flatter different eye colours.
